
Kenji Masui was born in Tokushima, Japan in 1981. He received his B.E. degree in Applied Physics from Kyoto University, Japan in 2004, his M.E. degree in Information Science from Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan in 2006, and his Ph.D. degree from NAIST, Japan in 2009. Since 2008, he has been with the Global Scientific Information and Computing Center (GSIC), Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) as a researcher (2008–2009) and an assistant professor (2009–now).
His research interests are in networking technology and large-scale distributed systems on the Internet, with consideration for their feasibility and deployability. His current research topics include: network measurement, overlay networks, and network operations.
He is engaged in the operation of the campus network as a NOC (Network Operation Center) member at Tokyo Tech, as well as the studies on its research-related topics. He is also leading a research and development project on the large-scale network measurement.
